Date: Tuesday, October 17th
This workshop will offer mindfulness-based techniques to improve your sex life, your connection to partners, and most importantly, your connection to yourself. It is common in our stressed-out, fast-paced world to find your mind wandering during sex. Staying present can also be particularly challenging for survivors of sexual trauma. It may have been an important coping strategy in the past to “leave the room” when reminded of a painful experience, but this strategy prevents the ability to be present in safe and loving interactions, too. While we may be physically in the room, we may not be fully present.
Mindfulness can help you be more emotionally and physically present, allowing for a deeper intimate connection with yourself and your partner(s). In this workshop we will cover the basics of mindfulness, relaxation techniques, and cues to bring you back to a more fulfilling intimate experience. You’ll learn to track how you’re feeling using the wisdom in your body, so you take care of yourself with compassion and enjoy more pleasure!
Please note this workshop is NOT recommended for anyone with recent crisis or trauma, but those in a long term healing path. If you’ve experienced a more recent trauma, please contact Rape Crisis Center of NM to learn about their free counseling services. This workshop is open to all genders, sexualities, ages, and current relationship status. If you have questions whether this workshop is right for you, please contact Molly at molly_at_ sextherapynm.com.
