Self Serve Code of Ethics
Matie and
Molly, the owners and operators of Self Serve, are motivated by an Ethic
of Caring.
We
care about you: We care about your safety, your
joy and your privacy.
Your
Safety: Much of our industry remains unregulated,
and a wide variety of products and product additives in the marketplace
have been proven to cause harm to the human body. We at Self Serve stock
only those products made with materials that are safe for human use.
We provide a "Self Serve Use and Care Guide" that is customized
for every product you purchase.
Your
Joy: We want you, our customer, to feel that our
store provides the opportunity to find the fulfilled life
that comes with the freedom to explore the intense capacity
for joy with which we as human beings have been uniquely endowed.
Your
Privacy:
We will never sell, trade or distribute your name, contact information,
or any other personal information to any company or organization. To ensure
your privacy we ship all orders plainly packaged with a return address
labeled "SSLLC." Any and all credit card purchases, both online
and in our store, will be charged by "Self Serve, LLC." If anyone
peeks at your mail or bills, they'll think you filled up on fuel.

We
care about our community:
- We offer
sexuality workshops that promote health, joy, safety and fulfillment.
- We provide
space for community groups to gather.
- We work
in cooperation with nonprofit organizations in the community that share
our Ethic of Caring. We provide support to ensure that our community
partners can continue to provide honest and open communication regarding
human sexuality.
- Our staff
has been trained to refer our customers to these trusted nonprofit organizations
when it becomes clear that a customer's joy and fulfillment is being
hindered by medical, emotional or relational difficulties that cannot
be solved through the purchase of one of our products.

We are committed
to providing our small, highly trained staff of competent professionals
with a safe, fulfilling and respectful work environment in which they
may prosper. Our "Self Serve Certified" professionals earn a
living wage and, as members of the Self Serve family, are as committed
to our Ethic of Caring as we are.
