Leather is essentially skin; it needs to be washed when dirty and moisturized to keep it soft and strong. Cleaning with hand or body soap will be very harsh on your leather and can actually damage it over time! We recommend using saddle soap or castle soap.

Add a small amount of lukewarm water and soap to a clean rag, and work the soap into a lather all over the inside and outside of the item. Wipe away the soap with a clean damp rag and let air dry, either on a hanger or on a flat, clean surface. 

Once dry you can use a leather conditioner or leather oil, massage liberally into the item, and with a dry cloth wipe away any excess product. 

Store out of direct sunlight.
